We Have a Title

We have an official title for the new series I’m working on: THE ORDER OF THE SEVEN STARS. The first book in the duology will be called THE WITCH’S LENS.

This story is set during WW1 on the Eastern front and features a young witch whose husband has gone off to fight for the Empire against the tzar’s army, but when she and her camera are recruited to fight the supernatural forces that have permeated the scene of battle, her life will never be the same.

The first book is already written. I’m just working on edits now and pondering book two, which I’ll begin writing in January.

Keen readers will remember the Order of the Seven Stars from The Conjurer, book three in The Vine Witch series. Now, during wartime, the Order’s influence and knowledge has never been needed more!

Coming later next year!

Giving Thanks

What better time to express my gratitude to those who not only read the books but take the time to leave a review than this month of Thanksgiving (in the U.S.). Wishing you all a healthy and bountiful year ahead!! 🙏🏻🦃

AND I also have to thank The Historical Novel Society for this lovely review of The Raven Song, book two in The Conspiracy of Magic series!

"Readers will enjoy an imaginative, skillfully written dive into Victorian fantasy."

Memento Mori

A charming fellow I met at a museum on a recent (research!) trip to Prague. I believe it was originally a sign outside an apothecary shop. His note reads “Recipe: Contra vim mortis non est medicamen en hortis.” Which translates to “There is no cure in the garden against the force of death.”

Happy Halloween! 🧙‍♀️🍄🕸👻💀

The Raven Song Is Out!

The Raven Song has enjoyed a wonderful launch week thanks to readers! Heartfelt thanks to all who downloaded or preordered the second book in The Conspiracy of Magic series. This was one of those books that had a tough road to publication due to the demands of caring for an elderly family member while trying to deliver a follow-up manuscript under a quick deadline. The two ended up colliding together like a car wreck with me smashed in the middle. But all that chaotic effort seems miles away in retrospect, now that the book is in the hands of readers. I hope you enjoy the continuation of Edwina and Ian’s story. Happy autumn reading!
